Impact of COVID 19 on AP&R

The Alamosa Family Recreation Center, the Multi-Use Pavilion/Ice Rink, and Cattails Golf Course are closed until further notice. For the most up to date information on the City of Alamosa's COVID-19 restrictions and preparedness plan, click here!

  • Recreation Staff are all home and doing well. We are diligently working to keep you informed as this ever-evolving scenario plays out. Please contact us if you have questions- AP&R Contact Info!
  • Parks Staff are out doing their best to keep our public amenities safe and clean (at an acceptable physical distance from one another, of course). Please give our folks a friendly wave if you see them!

All organized recreation and library programming, including youth sports practices and games, and adult fitness/cultural enrichment classes, are temporarily suspended until further notice.

  • Rec Center Membership (active as of March 17) will be extended for an equal number of days that the facility is closed. Punch passes are not time-sensitive; so no changes. Corporate membership organizations have been contacted to discuss their options. Ice Rink Membership was cut short this season and account credits have been applied.
  • The Youth Volleyball and Soccer seasons have been canceled.
  • The All-Valley Track Meet has been canceled.
  • The Adult Volleyball season has been suspended (but not canceled).
  • The Adult Softball Captain's Meeting, originally scheduled for Thu, March 26, is now rescheduled virtually for Thu, April 2 at 6 pm. Please contact Don Mendoza/League Director with questions at [email protected].

Zoom Meeting: Thu Apr 2, 2020 6pm, https://zoom.us/j/522227550

Parks, trails and open spaces are open per the Governor’s Stay-at-Home order; however, please consider the following:

  • Playgrounds, pavilions, and other outdoor recreation facilities (tennis courts, basketball courts, etc) are closed. These amenities are considered high risk areas for increasing transmission.
  • Do not recreate in groups - it may be important to be with a partner for safety reasons, but maintain social distancing.
  • Do not to approach another person outside (who is not a member of your household) - maintain a minimum 6-feet distance away.
  • Do not push your technical abilities outside - injuring yourself during this time is an unnecessary burden on the health care system.
  • Do not travel far to pursue outdoor activities - use Alamosa trails and open spaces.
