In Loving Memory

Juan Jose Jaramillo Sr.

Posted

Juan Jose Jaramillo Sr. was born on April 3rd 1950, to Reyes and Lucy Jaramillo and was baptized at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Conejos, CO. He was raised on the family’s ranch in Antonio, CO helping his dad and mom. He also tended to cattle at the Osier mountain ranch, which he loved so dearly.  He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the Navy aboard the USS Ranger. He worked as a Wildland Firefighter for many years.  At the age of 33 he welcomed his only son and namesake Juan Jose Jaramillo Jr. with whom he shared his love for ranching, camping, dancing, hunting, fishing, stamps, coins, jokes and the game of pool. He was a loving grandfather to his 3 grandchildren Braiden 10, MacKenzi 6 and Dillon 4. They were the light of his life.  Juan Jaramillo Sr. left this earth to join his father Reyes, his brother Edward and his sister Juanita in heaven on May 12th 2021. Thank the lord for bringing him peace and relieving his pain. He is and will always be in our hearts, playing jokes and reminding us not to take things too seriously. He leaves us to laugh at his jokes and cherish his memory: His son Juan Jaramillo Jr. (Katelyn), his mother Lucy (Trujillo) Jaramillo, his brothers Tony Jaramillo (Annamarie), David Jaramillo (Linda); his sisters Roberta Pacheco, Virginia Lujan(Steve), Lisa Atencio(Stephane), and Teresa Jaramillo, his grandkids and many loved nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Conejos on Friday, June 18th 2021 at 10 a.m.

Flowers can be sent to Romero’s Funeral Home in Alamosa, CO
