Inpatient Addiction Treatment

Dear Editor:

The need to provide an inpatient substance abuse treatment program in Alamosa is paramount for Alamosa and for the SLV.

Currently, our collaborative group is working to open INSIDE/OUT PROJECT (IOP), Inpatient Addiction Treatment and Healing Center, continuum of care, for Alamosa and the SLV which assists individuals who are not in the court system but who are seeking the benefit of inpatient addiction treatment.

Our collaborative group, established in Alamosa County, is spearheaded by HOPE FOR KIDS LIKE ME 501©3, and includes Colorado Rides, Inc., Our Place in Alamosa, Inc., Colorado Gators, Inc., and Padres Adelante Family Services. Our services are 100% provided by volunteers and extremely limited funding.

We are asking the Alamosa community and surrounding area to please consider sending a letter of support, ASAP, for INSIDE/OUT PROJECT, Inpatient Addiction Treatment and Healing Center, continuum of care, for Alamosa and SLV residents to the address listed below.

At this time, only individuals in the court system have benefit of inpatient addiction treatment in Alamosa and the SLV. Anyone not in the court system who is seeking inpatient addiction treatment is forced to leave Alamosa and the SLV and travel to the front range or out of state to receive inpatient addiction treatment services.

Among many other things, our collaborative group provides services which include temporary housing (individuals with felony records are automatically denied by government housing), community referrals to local agencies and medical/mental health providers, a weekly ‘Healing Hearts’ group for individuals recovering from addiction/alcoholism, and we provide supportive Fatherhood services.

We are asking Alamosa and SLV residents to send as many letters of support, as possible, ASAP, to show your support for, “INSIDE/OUT PROJECT, Inpatient Addiction Treatment and Healing Center, continuum of care, to:

We sincerely appreciate your consideration for this worthy work on behalf of our community because denying there is an addiction problem in our community only makes the problem worse.
