Inside the Intern's Mind: Mamma Mia was everything and more

After 10 long years, Mamma Mia released its second movie, ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” and I saw it opening weekend because I was overly excited.

I will be the first to say, I have probably re-watched the first movie way too many times to the point I could probably quote every line, sing every song and maybe even do the dances if I really wanted to.

If it seems like I’m being dramatic or overly excited, I can tell you right now that I am not. It drives my brother insane when I ask Alexa to play music by ABBA. My niece has even said something, but little does she know that the day she gets married her mom, me and her aunt will be singing “Super Trouper” like Donna and the Dynamo at her bachelorette party.

This sequel/prequel is about Donna meeting Sophie’s three fathers. It goes back and forth in time when she meets the dads at the time and how she and her girls sang all of the classic hits.

All of the younger cast members really did look like what I imagine the original cast looked like in their early 20’s. The two additions as the Dynamo’s really are great friends and are hilarious.

The soundtrack was just a good at the first one, and the music selection was excellent. Like always, there were parts that pulled the heartstrings, but that is to be expected.

I was grinning from ear to ear the entire movie, except the sad ones. It is a perfect movie for a girl night, so now I am just waiting for one of my friends who hasn’t seen it so I can watch it again.

So if you really want to go and see it but there’s someone who doesn’t, get a group of your girls and go. This way you can fully enjoy it without nagging in your ear asking when it will be over.
