Jade Communications wins DORA grant

CONEJOS — Jade Communications, an internet service provider in Alamosa, was recently awarded a $2.3 million grant from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies' Broadband Deployment Board. As a result, the company will break ground on constructing a fiber optic network in Conejos Canyon later this month.

Over 100 miles of fiber will be installed, serving 829 homes and 24 businesses int he following communities/subdivisions: Conejos, Paisaje, Mogote, Fox Creek, Bear Creek, Sheep Creek, Conejos Acres, Ponderosa, & Hocra.

“Conejos Canyon has long been an underserved community," said Jade Communications Director of Operations Josh Wehe in a press release. "Without access to high quality broadband service, these communities suffer and future economic development hinders. Jade is proud to have won a State of Colorado DORA grant to bring our world-class fiber network to one of the most beautiful areas in the San Luis Valley.”
