James Melvin Keeling

Longtime valley resident James Melvin Keeling, 83, passed away on January 10, 2022. He was born on January 1, 1939 in Del Norte, Colorado to Willie Jackson and Francis Aileen (Bradshaw) Keeling. James honorably served his country in the United States Navy for many years and was very proud of his opportunity to serve his country. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and camping. James was a Stationary Engineer as well as a Master Electrician, he had a passion for fixing things and there wasn’t much that he couldn’t understand and repair.  

James is survived by his daughter Jaymie (Stephen) Keeling-Goodall, his step-children, Michael (Donette) Powell and Marsha Powell, his grandson Quentin Prucha, his brother David Keeling, sister Betty Brian and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Bill Keeling, Benjamin Keeling and Bobby Keeling as well as his sister Judy Day and his step-son Mitchell Powell.
