Jamie Lynn Flickinger

We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Jamie Lynn Flickinger on March 1, 2021. Jamie was born in Del Norte, Colo. on January 12, 1985. She passed away at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.

Jamie graduated from Mountain Valley School in May of 2003. While in school she actively participated in numerous sports and clubs. Following high school, she attended Pikes Peak Community College and obtained her associate degree in business. She also took numerous online courses from Adams State College.

Jamie worked different managerial and accountant jobs in Colorado Springs, Denver and Alamosa.

On her twenty-first birthday, Jamie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. She suffered from this disease for fifteen years. Her death was contributed to complications from the disease. Jamie was a beloved mother, daughter and sister. Jamie is survived by (the love of her life) daughter Aviana Lynn, only 2 years old, mother Deborah Flickinger (Walsenburg) and older sister Kimberly (Epi Velasco) three nephews: Payson, Sebastian and Noah of Palm Springs, Calif. Jamie was preceded in death by her father Duane Ray Flickinger (only 100 days apart in deaths, Saguache, Colo.), Grandparents Steve and Alma Lessar (Walsenburg, Colo.), Bob and Marcella Flickinger (Saguache, Colo.), Uncle Rudy Lessar (Walsenburg), and cousin Logan Lessar.

We will miss her beautiful, rich laugh and her quick sense of humor. There is a huge void in our hearts, we feel she was taken away too soon and we will miss her. But each day we will see the light of Jamie in her young daughter Avi’s face and we will find solace.
