Jay J. Tilkens

On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, Jay J. Tilkens passed away at the age of 75. Jay was born on March 20, 1946, in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late Eben and Olive Tilkens. He was the youngest of five children, his three brothers preceded him in death and his sister is currently living in Wisconsin. Jay is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, and his children, Shelley and Shawn. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Randi, Paige, Cyndee, Izik, and Kaycie.

Jay joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed to Colorado where he met his wife, Shirley. They began a life together and after 20 years of military service, he retired and started his new career as a teacher. He loved to share knowledge with anyone who would take the time to learn. Jay always said, “No question is ever stupid”. He was one of those people that everyone loved. Jay was a funny man too and had a joke for every situation. He was a true diehard Green Bay Packers fan and the only thing he loved more was his family.

A Rosary will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 12:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Chama, Colorado.  A Funeral
