Jean Garrett was born in July 6, 1924 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Pratt.  She passed away at the San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center in Alamosa on May 5, 2018.

Jean graduated from Stillwater High school and Oklahoma A&M College where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.  She earned a M.A. degree from Adams State and taught at Sargent School for 22 years. 

She was married to Gordon Garrett for forty years, prior to his death.  Together they had one daughter LaNelle Garrett. 

Jean is survived by her granddaughter LaNay Naranjo of Monte Vista, great grandson Zaiden Naranjo of Monte Vista, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, and five brothers.

Cremation was chosen and private services will be held at a later date.
