Jennie F. Espinoza, 97

La Jara resident Jennie F. Espinoza, 97, passed away February 3, 2018 at the Rio Grande Inn with her loving family by her side. Jennie was born on May 15, 1920 in Skarda, New Mexico, the daughter of Juan R. Arellano and Manuelita Lopez Arellano.  Jennie devoted her life to caring for her family and being an active member of the community. She was involved with many of the church organizations. Jennie enjoyed going fishing, camping, gardening, volunteering for children's organizations and spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Survivors include her son Sam (Gloria) Espinoza of Manassa, CO; grandchildren Mike (Lucy) Espinoza of Windsor, CO; John (Kara) Espinoza of Alamosa, CO; Amanda (Joe) Garcia of Canon City, CO; Samantha Mays (Zach Trujillo) of Manassa, CO; great-grandchildren Nikki Martinez of Windsor, CO; Jonathan Espinoza of Alamosa, CO; Joshua Espinoza, Jasmine Espinoza both of Windsor, CO; John Espinoza of Colorado Springs, CO; Joel Espinoza of Manassa, CO; Jordyn Espinoza of Alamosa, CO; Tyler (Sage) Parsons of Arvada, CO; Brendon Parsons of Alamosa, CO; Krysta (Justin) Bialozor of Enid, OK; Marcus Espinoza of Texas; Aaron Garcia of Canon City, CO; great-great-grandchildren Ajilon Martinez, Carlos Martinez, Bella Martinez all of Windsor, CO; Jason Espinoza of Alamosa, CO; Jaelyn Espinoza of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survives by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jennie was preceded in death by her  parents Juan and Manuelita Arellano, husband Alex J. Espinoza, son Henry Espinoza, and all her brothers and sisters.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 7:00PM at St. Theresa Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM also at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Los Cerritos Cemetery in Manassa. The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Antonito.
