Monte Vista resident Jessica Renee Martinez, 35, passed away January 27, 2018. Jessica was born on August 7, 1982 in Rangely, Colorado, the daughter of Leonard William Martinez Sr., and Louella Sisneros Martinez. Jessica worked as a certified E.M.T, and had a passion for her career and helping others in need. She was a kind hearted, bright and loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed singing karaoke, going shopping, she was an avid Denver Broncos fan, she enjoyed science fiction and her favorite shows and movies, friends, scrubs. She was a movie buff. She cherished the time she spent with her children, family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her parents Louella and Leonard William Martinez Sr., of Monte Vista, CO; sons Devon Martinez, Jeremiah Martinez-Silva both of Monte Vista, CO; sister Anneli (Mike) Savala of Monte Vista, CO; brother Leonard William Martinez Jr., of Monte Vista, CO; nieces and nephews Alexis Savala, Austin Echeverria, Genesis Savala, Michael Savala Jr., all of Monte Vista, CO; brother-in-law James Echeverria of Monte Vista, CO.. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jessica was preceded in death by one sister Gwen Echeverria.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 1-5 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Monte Vista. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be held at a later date. The care of arrangements have been placed in the care of Romero Funeral Home of Monte Vista.
