Jonathan Craig LaCombe

Monte Vista resident Jonathan Craig LaCombe, 70, took his eternal rest on May 5, 2021, at his home under Hospice care with his loving family by his side. Jonathan came into the world on September 10, 1950, in San Luis, Colo., the beloved son of John B. LaCombe and Maria Pacifica Olivas LaCombe. Jonathan served and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Once his duties in the service were completed, he went on to work for the Department of Agriculture as a wildlife biologist. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, gardening, being outdoors, listening to music and watching boxing.

Survivors include his step-sons Abraham (Rebecca) Lopez of Rogers, Ark.; Edmundo (Guadalupe) Lopez of Denver, Colo.; step-daughter Addie (Scott) Campbell of Montrose, Colo.; five grandchildren, care provider Maria Piñon of Monte Vista, Colo.; sister Frances (Robert) Salazar of Denver, Colo.; brother Anthony LaCombe of Castle Rock. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents and one son Eppie Lopez.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista with full military honors.
