Capulin resident Jose Dennis Gonzales 72, passed away April 29, 2021, at his home. Jose was welcomed into the world on March 19, 1949, in Capulin, Colo., the beloved son of Bencesalo Gonzales and Estella Romero Gonzales. Jose served and was a veteran of the United States Army. He served during Vietnam. He was a compassionate and caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle cousin and friend who enjoyed going fishing, hunting, arrowhead hunting and being outdoors. Dennis was devoted to his faith and was a very active member of the Assembly of God Church in Capulin. Above all, Dennis cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.

He will live on through his daughter Angela (Dana) Galyon of Grand Junction, Colo.; sons Dennis Gonzales, David (Alicia) Gonzales both of Alamosa, Colo.; 5 grandchildren, sisters Barbara Gonzales, Pauline Gonzales, Eleanor Cruz all of Capulin, Colo.; brothers Gene (Stephanie) Gonzales-Veloit of Wisconsin, Ven (Margaret) Gonzales of Romeo. Colo.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Benceslao and Estella Gonzales, sisters Marie, Louise and two brothers Si Gonzales and Joseph Gonzales.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Alamosa. Inurnment will be held at the Gomez Cemetery.
