Jose M. Salazar, 60, passed away on Feb. 25, 2023, in Albuquerque, N.M.

Jose was born and raised in Del Norte, Colo., the son of Sara Dominguez and Joe Salazar. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Sara Dominguez, brother Wilbert Salazar, grandparents Joe B. and Elviria Salazar and Eugenio and Fedelina Martinez.

Jose is survived by his father Joe (Sylvia) Salazar, Edgewood, N.M., children Jose (Yuticeli) Salazar, Bernave (Rayshell) Salazar, Catalina Gallentine, all of Albuquerque, N.M., and Aramita Pacheco of Reno, Nev., brothers, Darrel Salazar, Albuquerque, N.M., Alex Turner Johnstown, Pa., sisters, Michelle Salazar, Albuquerque, N.M. and Anita (Noel) Martinez, Alamosa, Colo., step-father Manuel Dominguez, Del Norte, Colo. Jose has 10 grandchildren, Sara, Jr., Marisol, Rosa, Mariela, Loretto, Antonio, Azaliah, Santiago and Isreal.

A Holy rosary will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 7:30 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Monte Vista, Colo., and a Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10 at the same church, interment to following at the Del Norte Cemetery.
