Judging fairly for science


Barbara Kruse, visiting assistant professor at Adams State University's Teacher Education department, judges an entry at the 69th San Luis Valley Regional Science Fair in Plachy Hall on Thursday. The two-day fair concludes tonight with an award ceremony at 7 p.m. at Plachy Hall.

Adams State University students Elizabeth Heiny and Wyatt Moran analyze a contestant's research at the 69th San Luis Valley Regional Science Fair in Plachy Hall on Thursday. Roughly 250 judges scored more than 280 projects made by elementary, middle school and high school students from across the Valley. Depending on grade, there were 10-11 categories such as physics, engineering and earth science.
