June menus shared for senior centers

VALLEY — Following are the June menus for the senior centers throughout the San Luis Valley. Reservations are required. Call South Central Colorado Seniors at 589-4511 or sign up at the individual meal sites. All meals are served with 1-percent milk, no trans fat and no salt butter. Butter is served with bread products. Menus are subject to change.

Monday, June 4 — Lemon fish, tartar sauce, carrot coins, creamy coleslaw, mandarin oranges, whole wheat bread

Tuesday, June 5 — Turkey Swiss wrap with tortilla, ranch dressing, lettuce and tomato, feta/grape/spinach salad, honey balsamic dressing, sunflower seeds, fruit

Wednesday, June 6 — French dip sandwich with Au Jus, sun chips, peas/bell peppers, strawberry applesauce

Thursday, June 7 — Spinach lasagna, herbed green beans, salad, apricot halves, garlic bread

Friday, June 8— Chicken patty on bun with cheese, lettuce and tomato, tater tots, three-bean salad, pineapple

Monday, June 11 — Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, asparagus, half orange, whole wheat roll

Tuesday, June 12 — Chili beans, peas/cheese salad, corn, cornbread, pineapple

Wednesday, June 13 — BBQ chicken, potato salad, seasoned broccoli, mandarin oranges, whole wheat rolls, white cake with frosting

Thursday, June 14 — Tostada, beef/beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, Spanish rice, mixed fruit

Friday, June 15 — Tuna sandwich, whole wheat bread, lettuce, tomato, pork and beans, sun chips, red grapes and cantaloupe

Monday, June 18 — Crunchy fish, cheesy potatoes, broccoli/cauliflower, sliced peaches, whole wheat roll

Tuesday, June 19 — Hungarian goulash, California veg blend, salad, pineapple tidbits, whole wheat bread

Wednesday, June 20 — Hamburger on wheat bun with lettuce, tomato and onion, baked beans, sun chips, watermelon

Thursday, June 21 — Arros con pollo (chicken and rice), salad, herbed beets, whole wheat bread, sugar cinnamon apples

Friday, June 22 — Frito pie/salsa, lettuce, tomato, cheese, broccoli/carrot, whole wheat rolls, fruit cocktail with Jell-O

Monday, June 25 — Baked potatoes with broccoli and cheese, Caesar salad, fruit yogurt, vanilla wafers

Tuesday, June 26 — Chicken salad sandwich on whole wheat bread, lettuce, tomato, tomato soup, corn confetti, half orange slice

Wednesday, June 27— Glazed baked ham, mixed vegetables, carrifruit salad, peace/pineapple compote, whole wheat roll

Thursday, June 28 — Sweet and sour pork, steamed brown rice/egg, sesame broccoli, whole wheat bread, apricot halves

Friday, June 29 — Sloppy Joe on whole wheat bun, Brussels sprouts, tater tots/catsup, mixed fruit cup
