Kahler golf classic draws 67 players

ALAMOSA – Shooting identical net rounds of 72 both Saturday and Sunday, Tom Schultz and Kevin Jones tied for low net at 144 in the championship flight of the annual Kahler Golf Tournament at Cattails. Sixty-seven golfers competed in this year’s event in five flights.

Challis Wright topped the field in actual scoring with 74-76 for 150, leaving Josh Hensley (74-78) and Adam Jaron (76-76) tied for second. Jones’ 156 finished fourth in gross scoring while Schultz was fifth at 158. In the first flight, Colin Schrader took top honors in both gross (156) and net (140), followed by Eddie Valdez with 161 gross and 143 net.

Scott Kelleher was third (162-148) and Melvin Yates finished fourth (167-151). Austin Heersink won the second flight (165-147) followed by Dennis Shioshita (166-150) and Isaiah Anaya (170-152). Ric Cline was fourth in gross at 171 and tied with Jim Wright and Matt Glowczewski at 153 net.

The third flight went to Greg Jones (173-143) followed by Mike Milyard (175- 147), Chris Bush (175-149) and Rob Lopez (182-152). Roy Sanchez won both gross and net in the fourth flight (175-141), followed by Luke Porter (176-142). Diamond Mobbley finished third in gross at 181 and tied for fourth in net (147) with Mario Resendiz who was fourth in gross at 187.
