Kahler golf tournament is Aug. 10-11

ALAMOSA – The annual Alex P. Kahler Golf Tournament will take place on Aug. 10-11 at Cattails Golf Course.

The tournament is a 36-hole stroke play event over the two days. There will be a practice round, horse race, dinner and Calcutta on Aug. 9.

The first round will be played Aug. 10, and the second round on Aug. 11.

Players will be flighted by handicap.

The championship flight will shoot from the black tees, the first flight from the red tees, which is a combo of the black and blue tees, the second through fifth flight from the blue tees, and the senior flight from the green tees. Senior flight players must be 62 or older.

The entry fee is $200 which will include the practice round, tournament rounds, range balls, tee gift, Calcutta and dinner. The add-ons are $30 per guest on extra guest tickets, $15 per day for golf carts and there will be no single rider carts, and $20 for skins/day money. The $20 must be paid in cash before the first round.

Gross payments in each flight will be paid in shop credit.

Calcutta cash payouts will be determined by net scores in each flight. The Top 4 players in each flight will be paid out. For the Calcutta, payouts will be 90% of the pot. First place gets 40%, second place gets 30&, third place gets 20%, and fourth place gets 10%.

Skins are for round one and day money is for round 2 and are collected separately and not included in the entry fee.
