Karen Rebecca Majalca, 48, of Alamosa was called home to heaven on May 22, 2021.

She was born in Monte Vista, Colo. on October 21, 1972, to Ben and Rebecca Martinez. She married her husband of 31 years, Juan Majalca, on January 27, 1990, and they had four children.

Karen was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting blankets, camping and cooking for her family and friends. She was such a selfless person. She was given the nickname ‘Care-Bear’ for her big heart. She is survived by her husband, Juan Majalca, her children, Nancy (Samuel) Montoya, Maribel Majalca, Juan (Clarissa) Majalca and Ben (RyAnna) Majalca, her grandchildren Anthony, Angelo, Josiah and Orion Montoya, Kiele Aragon, Mia and Isabella Majalca, her sister, Lynette Martinez and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Rebecca and Ben Martinez and her brother Kenny Martinez. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 2 p.m. at The Door Christian Fellowship Church at 1300 West 12th Street Alamosa, Colo. with a reception to follow.
