Katherine Woolbert, an extraordinary individual whose light shone brightly in all facets of her life, passed away on April 8, 2024, in Alamosa, Colorado. Born on March 29, 1951, in Washington D.C., she graced this world with her presence and left an indelible mark through her numerous achievements and unwavering dedication to her passions.

Katherine was a woman of many talents and interests, excelling as a writer, editor, martial arts practitioner, horse owner, artist, and educator. Her career spanned various fields, from publishing six books to serving as an instructor at Adams State University for over two decades. Katherine's commitment to the arts extended beyond writing; she delved into sculpture, painting, drawing, and more, showcasing her boundless creativity.

One of Katherine's proudest accomplishments was founding and directing the volunteer Prison Integrated Health Program at the Federal Women's Prison in Dublin, California. Her innovative approach to holistic healing touched the lives of many incarcerated individuals, underscoring her compassionate nature and desire to make a difference.

Her magnetic personality was characterized by fiery passion and unwavering loyalty. Katherine was known for her honesty, generosity, and deep love for horses—especially her beloved Espranza. Whether crafting beautiful quilts by hand or tending to her garden, she found solace in creative pursuits that reflected her vibrant spirit.

In addition to her professional success and creative endeavors, Katherine cherished her relationships with family and friends. She is survived by her devoted spouse Henry Woolbert; loving siblings Thomas Edwards Park of Washington, New Hampshire; Mary Caroline Park Berman of Oakland, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard Park  and Maude (Green) Park, her sisters Nancy Turner Park; and Susan Park.

As we bid farewell to Katherine Woolbert, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life defined by passion, creativity, generosity, and unwavering dedication to uplifting others. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace amidst the echoes of all the lives she touched with her kindness and brilliance.
