ALAMOSA — Kelli Williams is another one of the many local success stories from GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs), being highlighted during National GEAR UP Week.

Kelli will receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2020. After graduating from Adams State University, Kelli worked for an orthodontist assistant at Comfort Dental in Pueblo and Colorado Springs.  Kelli also volunteered/assisted with graduate research at Colorado State University involving DNA extractions and method development in sterile technique. She started dental school at the University Of Colorado School Of Dental Medicine in August of 2016. She is now in her third year. She is a member of Delta Sigma and ASDA (American Student Dental Association). Kelli has volunteered for pre-dental days at her school and is currently working on a community outreach program for populations in need.

When Kelli was asked how GEAR UP helped her achieve her goals she said, “GEAR UP helped me to have the opportunity to get an early start in high school with my college curriculum and provided guidance and counseling to keep me on track and give me inspiration.”
