Kiwanis Club partners with Sweet Dream to gift children new bedding

ALAMOSA – At least 33 Alamosa kids are sleeping comfortably tonight thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Alamosa and Sweet Dream in a Bag. The duo teamed up to give PALS kids new bedding packages. The event was held on September 28th at 5:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Alamosa.

Lillie Munoz, the club president of Alamosa Kiwanis, said, “a good night’s sleep is vital to a kid’s success in life. When kids are well rested, they can learn more in school, live healthier lives, and have energy to play. Our community is blessed that Sweet Dream in a Bag has chosen to come to Alamosa for the 3rd year now. The value of each bag is approximately $100; for a total gift of $3,300 to the Alamosa community.”

All 33 bags were donated by Sweet Dream in a Bag, a non-profit entity from Centennial. Each child received a new bedding package containing a comforter, pillow, sheet set, blanket, stuffed toy, and a tooth brushing hygiene kit. Volunteers from the Alamosa Kiwanis Club, Key Club, Circle K and Pals then read personalized storybooks to each child.
