Kiwanis Club updates StoryWalk® at City Hall

ALAMOSA – Kiwanis Club of Alamosa and Alamosa Public Library invite community members young and old to experience the updated StoryWalk® at City Hall, just in time for One Book Colorado’s 2020 book giveaway!  Members of the Kiwanis Club of Alamosa will be installing the new book, in both English and Spanish, to be unveiled on Tuesday, October 13th!

This new book is the One Book Colorado’s 2020 giveaway.  The mission of One Book Colorado is to give a copy of a quality children’s book to every 4-year-old in the state, and Alamosa Public Library serves as a pick-up center.  Any child who is, has been, or will be 4 years old in 2020 is eligible to come to Alamosa Public Library to pick up their copy of this year’s book in English or Spanish.

Children of all ages are welcome to come enjoy the new book by walking the StoryWalk® at City Hall!  The StoryWalk® begins on the east side of the building, near locomotive No. 169.  The Kiwanis Club of Alamosa is giving away free “toolkits” related to the story, but you must read the story to find out how and where to get the kits.

To celebrate the reveal of this year’s One Book Colorado title and to kick-off the grand reopening of the updated StoryWalk® Alamosa Mayor and Kiwanis Club of Alamosa member Ty Coleman will virtually lead community members through the story on Tuesday, October 13th at noon on Alamosa Public Library’s YouTube page.

Funding to install this new book at the StoryWalk® at City Hall was provided by the Kiwanis Club of Alamosa with a matching grant from the Rocky Mountain District of Kiwanis Foundation.  The mission of Kiwanis is to improve the world one child and one community at a time.
