Larry “Lair” Anthony Pacheco

MONTE VISTA — Larry A. Pacheco went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2020. Of Pueblo West, Colorado and formerly of Monte Vista, Colorado, Larry was born on February 3, 1960 to Laureano and Gabriella Pacheco in Monte Vista, Colorado. He was a 1978 graduate of Monte Vista High School.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Laurie, sons Eric (Amanda) Pacheco, Aaron (Bree) Pacheco, Ryan (Brittany) Pacheco, stepson Derek, stepdaughters Jade and Reese, grandchildren Bailey, Brody, Keegan, Preston, Triston, Cooper, Noah, Declan, Loehlan, Zeke, Zenoviah, Infinity, Cassius – he will clearly be missed by his grandchildren who called him “Pops”.  He loved spending time with them, family, individually and at family gatherings.

Siblings Alfred Sanchez, Alamosa; Dave (Liz) Padilla, Colorado Springs; Gilbert (Kathy) Padilla, Pueblo; Michael Quintana, Colorado Springs; Patricia (Gilbert) Garcia, Grand Junction, Colorado. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends and his dog, Harley. Other siblings include Dennis Pacheco, Alamosa; Loretta Pacheco, Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Leola Pacheco, Fort Worth, Texas. 

Larry was a strong, honest, loving person.  He was passionate about his music. He wrote and recorded his own music. He could play any instrument.  He was the most amazing father, Pops, brother, uncle, husband and friend.  He was a hero to his family. They were his world, and he made it known to them.   He was an excellent carpenter, designer, and all who saw his work knew he loved his back yard. The more the merrier.  He lived in Denver for 14 years and became a true Bronco fan.  He loved God. He always prayed to have his family safe.

Larry retired from the United States Postal Service after 37 years working in management. After retiring, he took a break, and then 2 years later, he went on to receive his real estate license and was a realtor part time along with spending time working hours in his yard.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Laureano and Gabriella Pacheco, grandmother Maria Pacheco, brother Jerry Sanchez, nephew Gil Padilla Junior, Uncle Paul Pacheco, niece Sharon Sanchez and his little dog, Sullivan.

Cremation was chosen and a celebration of his life was held October 3, 2020 at his home in Pueblo West. He will greatly be missed!! As we mentioned, Larry loved music – you can view his live performances by going to www.youtube.com search area: soundchexone.
