Learn cake decorating with 4-H Cloverbuds on Jan. 6

MONTE VISTA – Valley youth ages 5 to 7 are invited to participate in Cloverbuds, a fun activity-focused youth development program, run by San Luis Valley 4-H. The January meeting will take place on Saturday, January 6 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the San Luis Valley Area Extension office in Monte Vista and will feature cake decorating.

Participants will learn about color, symmetry, and patterns through fun, hands-on activities. They’ll then apply what they learned to decorating their own mini cake with frosting and candy. Attendees get to take home their creations.

Kids do not need to be 4-H members to attend this event. The cost is $10 per child, and includes materials and a snack. Youth must RSVP to the Extension office by January 3 if they’d like to participate, as space and materials are limited. Call 719-852-7381 or e-mail [email protected] to register.

The Cloverbuds club will continue to meet monthly with different themes at each meeting. Upcoming themes include wildlife, cooking and science.
