Legion celebrates birthday

ALAMOSA—The members of the American Legion, Post 113 are celebrating their 98th birthday on Saturday, March 18. Legion members and their guests are invited to a potluck dinner in the Legion Hall. Legionnaires are encouraged to bring their favorite dish to share.

Pastor Bob Galey, Air Force veteran, Legionnaire, and pastor, will be the keynote speaker. Reservations are required to help plan seating. Please call the American Legion at 589-4241, after 4.

The American Legion is the largest wartime veteran’s service organization with 2.4 million members in nearly 14,000 posts in nearly every community in America. The Legion, established by an act of Congress in 1919, was instrumental in getting the original GI Bill through Congress and the creation of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
