Leona Karissa Lucero (Conan)

Alamosa resident Leona Karissa Lucero (Conan), 33, passed away on July 7, 2022.  Leona was born on August 2, 1988 in Alamosa, Colorado to Jessie Archuleta and Richard Lucero.  Leona enjoyed her job as a medical biller; she loved her macaroni’s and loved playing cards with her family, doing make up and braiding hair.  Leona was a diehard Raider fan even though we tried to change her to be a Bronco.  Leona was “Hakuna matata (no trouble, no worries and take it easy”), she had an infectious laugh contagious to all. 

Leona is survived by her children Carson Gurule, Camrie Gurule and Noah Avila, her mother Jessie Archuleta, her father Richard Lucero (Teresa Romero), her sister Raychel Lucero, her grandparents Ricardo and Joann Valdez, her aunt and Uncle Tracy and Michael Vargas as well as numerous cousins and extended family. 

Leona was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Joe Archuleta, great grandparents Epifania (Eppie) and Frank Archuleta, Grandma and Grandpa Nicho and her paternal grandparents Loyola Marquez and Elipio Lucero.

Leona will always be greatly loved and missed, but she will remain in our hearts forever.

Cremation was selected and a Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday July 15, 2022 at The First Christian Church in Alamosa with a wake to follow.  To express condolences to the family, please visit www.rogersfunerals.com
