Leona Lorene “Fishy” Fish, 73, of La Jara, Colorado passed away peacefully at the SLV Regional Medical Center Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Born July 13, 1944 to Jack and Lela (John) Fish in fort Garland, CO. she lived there until 1985 then she moved to Alamosa to work at Blue Peaks. She spent her last years at the Rio Grande Inn in La Jara until her passing. She retired from Blue Peaks in 2016.

Survivors include her sister Norma (Jerry) Roberson of Bakersfield, CA; brothers Ernest Fish of Dansville, AK; and Wayne Rippeto of Georgia; Aunt Grace Stephens of La Jara; Martha John of Blanca, CO; Beverly Fowler of Alamosa, CO and numerous of nieces and nephews and cousins; by her families at Blue Peaks and Rio Grande Inn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Ethel and Herbert John and numerous aunts and uncles.

Services will be held at Strohmayer’s Funeral Home, 205 South Broadway Monte Vista, CO 81144 on Tuesday, May 29, at 2:30 p.m.

Leona was a friend to all. She was happy, kind and content. She truly loved unconditionally. She will be missed by all who knew her.
