LeRoy "Ray" Ramon Gallegos, 77

Saguache resident LeRoy “Ray” Ramon Gallegos, 77, passed away August 10, 2017 at St. Mary Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo with his loving family by his side.  LeRoy was born on August 20, 1939 in Saguache, Colorado, the beloved son of Florestino Gallegos and Lupe Anglada Gallegos. LeRoy was a Veteran of the United States Navy, and served during Korean War and Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Emily T. Hernandez and worked as a tile setter for many years. He was skilled at his craft and has a passion for his work. He was President of the Chicago Cemetery Board. LeRoy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter Terrina Ward of Saguache, CO; son Jason (Victoria) Gallegos of Pueblo, CO; grandchildren Raina Ward of Saguache, CO; Roy (Rosie) Ward of Monte Vista, CO; Great-grandchildren Kai Ward and Leroy Ward both of Monte Vista, CO; sister Mary Ann Vigil of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers Lawrence Gallegos of Center, CO; John Gallegos of Moffat, CO; Bernie Gallegos of Saguache, CO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents Florestino and Lupe Gallegos, wife Emily Gallegos, son Vincent Gallegos, brothers Claude Gallegos, Jerry Gallegos and Gilbert Gallegos.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 7:00 PM at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Saguache. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM also at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Chicago Cemetery with full military honors. The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
