Letter to the editor: Noffsker thanks supporters

I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you who supported me in the primary race for Rio Grande County Commissioner. A special thanks goes out to my campaign team who worked tirelessly to help me win this election. One of the highlights of this campaign has been getting to visit with folks from around the county. At the urging and encouragement of many people who wanted to see a change in the direction of the county, I decided to enter the race.

From the time I began considering running for office, I’ve been meeting with citizens from around the county, as well as agency heads and elected officials, while attending commissioner’s meetings, listening to concerns and observing the process. It is clear the county is facing several unprecedented challenges. Successfully addressing these challenges requires commissioners who listen and are objective; commissioners who are not motivated by personal agendas or grudges; commissioners who are not catering to special interests, nor succumbing to outside influences.

As we enter the next phase of this election, I will continue to listen and work diligently to prepare for the office of commissioner. And, if elected, I pledge that I will do my utmost, bringing my years of experience to the task, committed to the service of all the citizens of Rio Grande County.

Again, thank you.

John Noffsker
