Dear Editor,

Just a short note of praise and thanks to the 100 or so participants involved with Antonito’s Community Clean-up May 8. Lured by more than dust and the noontime barbeque, the students of both South Conejos and Antonito’s Consortium Alternative Schools, the South Conejos County crew and our own town employees led by Administrator Rossi Duran, put a huge dent in the trash accumulated through winter and seasonal winds especially in the most hard-hit areas, our alleys and everything east of Main Street (Hwy 285).

Many thanks to the Conejos County EMS unit who were invited to monitor our participants for signs of stress or weather-related issues. Wonderful job by one and all!
