LETTERS

Dear Editor:

While congratulations to Adams State University Police Chief Erika Derouin are in order, I’d like to remind the ASU and Alamosa Community of the long and distinguished service of the woman who served as my deputy chief while I was head of the ASUPD. Tresa Rupright was never granted the official rank or pay that she deserved. Officer Rupright served in every assignment within our department and was highly responsible for keeping our agency operating at a high level of service. As a trainer, investigator, officer, and administrative guru with records and compliance, Officer Rupright was a key player in the transition to professionalism at ASUPD. As we celebrate women in leadership, she remains an unsung hero.
