Chama, Colo., resident Maria Libradita Rivera, 100, passed away March 8, 2023, in Monte Vista, Colo., the daughter of Adelaida Herrera and Santiago Arellano.

Maria was known as “Libby Labels” to many in her community. She was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

She was a very religious woman. She liked dancing and telling jokes. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched in one way or another.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Celedon Rivera, sister Celestina Maestas, and brother Gene Herrera.

Survivors include her daughters Karen Zamora (Angel Zamora), Dolores Lucero, Leslie Stotmeister (Robert Valdez), and Sierra Maestas (Andres Garcia); numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and extended family.

She belonged to the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Rosary will be held on Monday, March 13, at 2:30 p.m. and Mass of the Resurrection to immediately following at 3 p.m., both at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Chama, Colo. Interment will be held at Chama Community Cemetery.
