MONTE VISTA — The Monte Vista Neighborhood Watch along with the MVPD has proclaimed the first two weeks in January as “Lights On, Monte!” All residents have to do is turn on their front and back porch lights all night from January 1 through January 13.  

And if they’re not working just call Neighborhood Watch at 852-6168 for help. In the future, Neighborhood Watch along with the MVPD will be circulating similar simple ideas to assist in deterring and reducing crime in town.

For two weeks let’s get together and at least let lights shine as a unified message to burglars that “We’re fed up and we’re not taking it any more!” To not forget, leave them on 24/7 (which should only cost 10 cents a day with the right bulbs.)
