Local 4-H club organizes teddy bear drive

MONTE VISTA – The Blue Spruce 4-H Club raised funds and purchased more than 130 teddy bears to donate to Rio Grande County and Valley first responders. The bears are intended to help provide comfort to kids experiencing traumatic events.

Community service is an important part of being a member of the Blue Spruce 4-H Club, which meets in Monte Vista. In addition to this project, members have also volunteered at the Vali Theater and completed a canned food drive. The club meets monthly at the Calvary Baptist Church in Monte Vista.
