Lockhart crane raffle at Potato Festival

Purchase a chance at “crane art – Sunrise Flyers” painted by award winning Colorado Artist Tom Lockhart.  Friends of Ski Hi are announcing a raffle to win a chance at the “crane” painted by Tom Lockhart who was raised in Monte Vista.  “We are so excited that Tom wanted to be a part of helping to raise dollars for the new San Luis Valley Ski Hi Park Event and Conference Center,” said Karla Shriver, co-chair.  “What an honor it is to have him involved.”

“Karla and I paid for the crane silhouette,” said co-chair Kathy Woods, “ and Tom agreed to paint it. One hundred percent (100%) of the funds raised will go towards the Ski Hi building project.”

Tom Lockhart is well known for his ability to paint in oils, watercolors, and pastels and well as acrylics.  Tom has won numerous awards in each Medium in National as well as Regional Art Shows and Competitions.  “I wanted to do my part in helping to raise monies for an important facility for the whole San Luis Valley,” said Lockhart.  “I was raised in Monte Vista and I attend many events in the old building and went swimming in the old pool.  I know how important that facility is to the whole Valley.”

Tickets are $10 each or a book of 5 for $40.00.   Tickets will be available at the Potato Festival this Saturday at Chapman Park in Monte Vista.  Tickets can also be purchased at the Monte Vista Chamber office or at one of the many businesses you will see the crane at.  The crane was at the Monte Vista Coop, and will be at RG Bank (Monte Vista office), Sunflower Bank, and the San Luis Valley Federal Bank (Monte Vista office).   The crane will travel to Del Norte and be at Del Norte Bank and to Alamosa to be displayed at Alamosa State Bank, RG Bank, and San Luis Valley Federal Bank and other locations as they are determined.  Watch for the “Sunrise Flyers” Crane!!!
