Louis “Pee Wee” Anderson

On Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, Louis “Pee Wee” Anderson, passed away at the age of 84 with his loving wife, Brenda, by his side.

Pee Wee was born on October 17th, 1937, in Castle Rock Colorado to Louis and Mildred (Flierl) Anderson. Pee Wee worked construction for most of his career along with shoeing and breaking horses and raising livestock. He will always be remembered as the blue-eyed, spunky, ornery cowboy with his long-sleeved western shirts and black cowboy hat who loved a good joke and could sit for hours telling stories about his past experiences, Pee Wee never met a stranger.

Whether Pee Wee was roping, judging, spectating, or reminiscing, rodeo was his passion, and he spent a great deal of his time throughout his life on the rodeo grounds. He was involved in the Little Britches Rodeo, served as a member of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Posse, and was a member of the San Luis Valley Cattlemen Association.

Pee Wee is survived by his wife, Brenda Anderson, Sons Roger (Trish) Anderson, Brian (Susan) Harman, and Daughter Brandee (Dave) Fuller. Grandchildren Patrick (Ariel) Anderson, Sawyer Anderson and Rose Anderson, Stacy (Jason) Martindale, Casey Harman, Abby Harman, Brandon Fuller, Brett (Brittney) Fuller, Bradley Fuller, Bryleigh Fuller and Braxton Fuller, and Angie (Jessie) Bolton, Great Grandchildren Mari and Archer Bolton and Jackson Martindale, Brother Dan Anderson, Sister Janet Garrett, Brother-in-law Bill Carlson, Sister-in-Law Betty Anderson and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mildred Anderson, brothers Dutch (Raymond) Anderson, Ed (Shirley) Anderson, and sister Tike (Ester) Carlson.

We will be having a Celebration of Life and a Barbecue in Douglas County to honor Pee Wee in October, invitations, and service information to follow. Services in care of Strohmayer’s Funeral Home.
