ALAMOSA — Jacob Lowder, son of Sheldon and Loretta Lowder of Monte Vista, has been called to serve a two-year Spanish-speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. Lowder has been called to the Montevideo Uruguay Mission in South America.

Lowder is a 2018 graduate from Sargent High School. He left July 17th for the Mission Training Center located in Mexico City for six weeks before heading out to Uruguay. He has always desired to serve a mission. He knows the Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed his life, and he wants to share the message of hope and forever families with others. He wants to share how important God is in our everyday lives. He is excited for the next two years and ready to build relationships with the people in Uruguay.
