Lucia Frances Ruybal, 70, left this earth and went to rest in God’s memory on April 23, 2017 at Penrose hospital surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born on October 28, 1946 in Mogote, Colorado to Juanita Ruybal and Alex Martinez. She was adopted by Bennie DeHerrera but raised by her maternal grandparents Melquides (Rosenda) Ruybal. Frances was known by many to be a loving, peaceable, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and most of all servant of Jehovah.

She was married to Arthur L. Ruybal on November 19, 1971. She was married for forty six years and had three daughters and a son. She enjoyed helping others in any way she could. Lucia spent her life as a care provider and CNA, she always loved caring for the elderly and disabled. Frances hobbies included dancing, sewing, arts and crafts, making jewelry, spending time outdoors. Her most beloved activity was telling others about her strong belief in the bible and her hope and faith of Jehovah’s promise of a resurrection and the earth becoming a paradise. Two years ago she was overjoyed to find out she had a long lost sister. Trianna was her only biological half sister from her father Alex Martinez.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years Arthur Ruybal, daughter Sandy (John) Medina of Sanford, Laura Lynn Cordova (Christopher Maez) of Manassa, Judith Ruybal of Antonito and son AJ Ruybal of Colorado Springs, six grandchildren, Ashley, Johnathon, Caitlin, Brandi, Jacob, and Jeremy, great grandchildren, Mia, Jayden and Keon Sisters: Esther, Trianna, Jane, Marcella, Rebbecca brother: Juvie, also many nieces and nephews. Her spiritual family. Preceded in death were her mother Juanita Ruybal, father Alex Martinez, adopted father Bennie DeHerrera, grandmother Rosenda Ruybal grandfather Melquides Ruybal, brother Benjaman DeHerrera, aunt Eloyda Anaya, sister Mary Garcia and her best friend Nelly Miranda.

Services will be held Saturday April 29, 2017 at 1:00pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 10922 U.S. Highway 160 in Alamosa Colorado.
