Alamosa resident Lucille Gutierrez, 84, went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband on September 11, 2021. Lucille made her grand entrance into the world on January 23, 1937 in Capulin, Colorado, the beloved daughter of Amelia Martinez. Lucille was passionate about learning. She was like a sponge and absorbed everything she could from information from  books, friends, family and life. She turned that passion into a career and became an administrator for the Alamosa School District. She dedicated man many years to her career and finally retired to spend her days going gambling, fishing, and as much time as she could with her family and friends.

Her legacy and memory will live on through her beloved son Gerald Gutierrez of Alamosa, CO;  several grandchildren, siblings Tonantzin Gutierrez, Matt Espinoza both of Alamosa, CO; Aimee Espinoza of San Antonio, TX.  she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jake Gutierrez, sons Michael Gutierrez, George Gutierrez, Joseph Espinoza, siblings Bennie Ortiz, Tony Gallegos and Hoover Gallegos.

Cremation was chosen and a Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 AM also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date. To leave online condolences please visit romerofuneralhomes.com.
