DENVER — San Luis Valley Resident Lucy J. Lucia Muñoz, 92, died October 4, 2018 in Denver. She was a resident of Monte Vista, Alamosa, Center and La Jara, Colo.

She was born August 22, 1926, in La Isla, Colo., to Bert Duran Sr. and Elena Archuleta Duran. Lucy dearly loved all her family.

She is survived by her sons, Leroy Archuleta, Harold Leyba, Raymond Leyba, Louie Leyba, her daughters, Lovada Madrid, Mary Jane Oranales, Jeanette Millan, Rosine Maestas, Maxine Gallegos. Lucy is survived by 27 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren, her siblings, Sisters Stella Brink, Rose Arellano, Connie Archuleta, Brother Bert (Pauline) Duran, one Brother-in-law Gilbert Atencio. Lucy is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Lucy will be missed and loved dearly.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Muñoz, Mother Elena Duran, her Father Bert Duran Sr. Her Brothers, Edward Duran, Tony Duran, Juanito Duran, Baby Duran, One Brother-in-law, Frank E. Archuleta, Sisters, Sally Atencio, Mary Malouff, Mercy D. Garcia, Vera Duran.

Services were held in Monte Vista, Colo. October 11, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rosary was held in Denver, Co. October 9, 2018, at Romero’s Funeral Home.
