On February 16, 2021, Mabel Padia, a Loving mother and grandmother left us to be reunited with her two children Lorraine and Manuel Padia.

Mabel was Born on June 5, 1936 To Hilda and Ricardo Fresquez, in Tercio Colorado and later moved to the San Luis valley. Mabel left an imprint on anyone she met. She was very well respected, especially for her honesty. Mabel was very loving and had a very big heart, she would do anything for anyone especially for her family. Mabel owned a Bar called the Double J in Monte Vista for over 20 years. After owning the Double J Mabel then became a Home health caretaker and retired 6 years ago.

Mabel is survived by her 5 grandchildren LeAnn (Andrew) Chavez of Arvada, Co. Yvonne (Omar) Torres of El Paso, Tx. Jason Samora of Sterling, Co. Lee Padia of Monte Vista, Co and Shannon (Matthew) Padia of Manassa co. As well as her siblings Mary Ann Archuleta, Lala Santestevan, Inez Timbreza, Lottie Fresquez, Arnold Fresquez, Tom Fresquez, Paul Fresquez, Ruben Fresquez and Robert Fresquez as well as her 6 great grandchildren Naila Torres, Jorge Torres, Jude Chavez, Luke Chavez , Kadin Padia-Mosco and Cale Jaramillo, as well as many friends and extended family.

Mabel was Proceeded in death by her parents Ricardo and Hilda Fresquez, her two children Lorraine and Manuel Padia and her 3 brothers, Felix Fresquez, Gilbert Vigil, and Lee Fresquez.

Cremation was selected and a Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista.  A Rosary will be recited prior to the service at 9:30 am.  Inurnment will follow services in the Del Norte Cemetery.  To express condolences, please visit www.rogersfunerals.com
