ALAMOSA — Adams State University senior golfer Madison Horton has been named the ASU Student Athlete of the Month for the month of September.

Horton and the golf team were the only Grizzly intercollegiate athletics team to compete this month as they ended a 190-day athletic competition drought by Adams State on September 14th, when they traveled to Todd Creek Golf Course in Thornton for the 2020 Swan Invitational.

Horton finished the event in 20th place overall as she posted a combined two-day score of 164, posting an opening round score of 77 and a second-day score of 87.

Horton posted a GPA of 3.86 and is majoring in Public Relations.

The Student Athlete of the Month Award will be presented at the end of each month during the 2020-21 academic school year and is being sponsored by the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee.
