Manuel B. Vasquez

Guadalupe resident Manuel B. Vasquez, passed away April 30, 2022 under Hospice Care with his loving family by his side. Born on March 19, 1944, the son of Jose B. Vasquez and Anita DeHerrera Vasquez. Manuel worked as a heavy equipment operator for Grefco for many years. He made many friends and was well known in the community through the work he did with them. On his free time, Manuel enjoyed going fishing, camping and having barbeques with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and Denver Nuggets. His family will always remember him for his kind and loving nature. He was the most exceptional and compassionate man. He loved his family and was so dearly loved by them and will be missed forever.

His legacy will live on through his loving wife Sally Vasquez of Guadalupe, CO; daughter Felice Vasquez of Guadalupe, CO; granddaughter Courtney Vasquez of Guadalupe, CO; sisters Shirley Lopez (Robert) of Antonito, CO; Dorothy (Jorge) Pierda of Las Cruces, NM; Judy Thompson of Weslaco, TX; brother Ricardo Vasquez of Garcia, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lucy Garcia, Mattie Davila, brothers Aggie Vasquez, Art Vasquez and many brothers and sisters-in-laws. He was finally reunited with his beloved son Matthew Vasquez.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 12-4 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. Cremation will follow and a Vigil Service will take place on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos.
