Colorado Springs former San Luis resident Maria Grimaldo, 63, went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2017.  

She is preceded in death by her father, Juan Santos DeHerrera; grandparents, Eufelia (Jose) Valencia; and sister, Mercy (Alfonso) Lucero.  

Maria is survived by her spouse of 43 years, Frank Grimaldo Sr.; children, Alexandra (David) Larvia and Frankie Grimaldo Jr.; grandchildren, Mariah, Khia, Frankie III, Estevan and Joseph; parents, Miquelita DeHerrera; siblings, Adolph, Clorinda, Flora and Maggie.  

Maria enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and listening to Spanish Music.  

Viewing will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 1-5 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. also at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Sangre de Cristo Church in San Luis. Inurnment will follow at a later date. The arrangements have been placed in care of Romero Funeral Home of San Luis.
