Mariachi extravaganza set for May 6

SAN LUIS — Mariachi San Luis will be hosting their 19th mariachi extravaganza on May 6th at 6 p.m. at the Centennial School gym. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at Papers of Distinction in Alamosa, the Covered Wagon Café in San Luis, from a member of Mariachi San Luis, or at the door.

Also performing that evening will be Mariachi Corazon del Valle from Adams State University, and Mariachi Questa from Questa, NM.

Mariachi San Luis has provided students and adults from Costilla County and throughout the San Luis Valley and Northern New Mexico the opportunity to learn, perform, and appreciate the richness of Mexican music played mariachi style.  During the past 19 years, more than 250 students and adults have taken advantage of this learning opportunity.

Thanks to a core group of adult mariachi members, along with director Frank Vigil, everyone receives instruction on singing and the playing of mariachi instruments.  Mariachi San Luis has performed throughout the San Luis Valley, the state of Colorado, and Northern New Mexico.

Come join in a wonderful night of music.
