Mark Gottfried, 73, of Monte Vista, passed away on Aug. 13, 2023, at San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with his Loving wife MaryAnn by his side. Mark was born in Brookville, Pa., to Roy and Betty Gottfried.

Mark enlisted in the Airforce, where he retired after serving his county for 23 years. He also drove trucks for the Monte Vista Coop for 15 years.

Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his yard, but most of all he loved playing with his seven dogs.

Mark was preceded in death by both his parents.

He is survived by his wife MaryAnn, Stepchildren Tanya (Adrian) Duran, Tara (Ronnie) Miller and Kevin Dickey; four Brothers Roy (Beth), Bob, Roger and Carl Gottfried, cousins John Kells and Patricia Commons; six grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held at the Colorado State Veterans Cemetery where he will be Inurned, with full military honors, on Sept. 16, 2023, at 11 a.m.
