Mary Clorinda Martinez, 95 of Denver passed away on November 29 2018, in Denver. Mary was born on January 22, 1923 in Los Sauces, Colorado to Fermin and Clara Martinez. Mary attended public schools in the Los Sauces CO. In 1936 Mary married Edward Martinez on January 30, 1939 in Antonito, Colorado.

Mary has lived in the Denver area since the 80’s prior to living there she spent most of her life in La Jara, Colorado. Alongside her husband Edward, they owned and operated a liquor store, pool hall and a clothing store in La Jara.  Mary was an active member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.  She enjoyed her trips up the mountain with her friends and family.  She was an accomplished quilter and led a vibrant healthy life bowling into her 80’s.

Mary is survived by three children, Querina (Tony) of La Jara, CO; Bonifacio of Denver and Orlando (Amanda) Martinez of Denver. Siblings Elsie Morales, Rebecca Lopez, Gilbert Martinez all of Denver and Clara Jewel of Nevada, also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 1981; son, Nickolas Martinez in 2015; one brother; and 3 sisters.

Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, December 7th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 both at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2905 Federal Boulevard, Denver, Colorado.  Interment will follow at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheatridge, Colorado
