ALAMOSA — At the Rio Grande Farm Park, we enthusiastically encourage community involvement in an equitable food system; it’s something we all work together to create and consistently support. With your help, we will soon construct a greenhouse at the Park to fill a community need and desire to have fresh, locally-grown food available year-round.
Beginning Monday, June 22nd, we are launching a campaign to raise $20,000 toward this greenhouse. Thanks to generous donors agreeing to match all of the funds we raise, every dollar that you give from Monday until July 17th goes five times as far!
To this end, we are asking for your support. Adding your donation to this campaign is an investment in the wellness of the entire community, from the ground up. Donors who give at least $25 will be recognized on a plaque in the park, and donors who give $10,000 or more will be honored on a park bench. Donations of $100 or more are eligible for an Enterprise Zone tax credit.
This greenhouse will benefit our farmers, providing space for them to grow their starts and extending their growing season; Rio Grande Farm Park as an organization, offering opportunity for sustained earned income; and our community by providing fresh leafy greens and other veggies year-round! Small farms can feed the world. With your support, the Rio Grande Farm Park can be a part of the solution we need to provide for the future.
