Matthew Thomas Willett

Matthew Thomas Willett, a resident of Boise, Idaho, died Feb. 10, 2023, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was 41 years of age.

Cremation was chosen and services will be held in Boise, Idaho, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Eastwind Community Church https://eastwind.churchcenter.com/giving/to/matt-willet-memorial.

Matthew was born July 18, 1981, at Cross Arrow Ranch in the San Luis Valley of Colorado to Michael Joe and Jane Ann Willett. He attended Sanford, Colo., schools for his primary schooling and obtained a strong agricultural background working on the ranch. Upon graduation from Sanford High School, he obtained his Baccalaureate degree from DeVry University in Phoenix, Ariz.

After graduation Matthew selected a career as a Senior Support Specialist and worked in the USA and abroad for ASML for the production of microchips. Beyond the workplace, Matthew was an avid outdoors man, runner and cyclist. He was also a private pilot and had owned multiple aircraft.  He was mechanically savvy and loved most anything with a motor. Matthew spent his last four years as a very devoted father to his son, Maddox, whom he adopted. He will forever be remembered for his smile and upbeat demeanor.

Matthew was preceded in death by his mother Jane Ann.

He is survived by his son Maddox of Boise, Idaho; his father Michael Willett (Marilyn); brother Toby Willett (Jessica); and nieces and nephews, Peyton, Riley, Clay and Ty Willett all of Sanford, Colo.; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
